Privacy Policy for Helaruth
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Helaruth Sinhala Dictionary handles information when you use our mobile app or website.
Information we collect
Helaruth does not require an account. Your saved favourites, search history, theme preference and pronunciation-speed preference are stored locally on your device.
Microphone permission
The mobile app asks for microphone permission only when you choose Voice Search. Spoken words are used to convert your speech into search text. Helaruth does not store your voice recordings. Speech recognition may be provided by your device or its speech-recognition service.
Dictionary synchronisation
When an internet connection is available, the app may connect to Supabase to download dictionary updates. This is used only to keep the local dictionary content current.
Sharing of information
Helaruth does not sell personal information. We do not require user accounts and do not intentionally collect personal information through the app.
Data security and retention
Favourites, history and preferences remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall the app. Dictionary data is stored locally to support offline use.
Third-party services
The app uses Supabase for dictionary-content synchronisation. Your device may also use its operating-system speech service when Voice Search is used. Their policies may apply to data they process.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features or data practices change. The current version will always be available on this page.
